Rowallan Pastoral Company supplies prime lamb to Mirrool Creek Lamb; both companies are owned and operated by the Hayes family. Rowallan Pastoral Company is situated near Beckom in southwest NSW. This area is renowned for producing highly sought after prime lambs with extremely high muscle yield and eating quality that is second to none.
Growing prime lambs is similar in many ways to producing fine wines. The climate, soil type and pastures have a great deal to do with the quality and taste of the product. When producing prime lamb the conditions should not be harsh, nor should they be over indulgent. The mixture at Rowallan Pastoral Company of predominately red loam soils with some heavier clays, combined with a mild climate and a moderate rainfall make this region ideal for prime lamb production.
The stock supplied to Mirrool Creek Lamb from Rowallan Pastoral Company are supreme quality second cross lambs. These lambs are by a Poll Dorset ram out of a first cross ewe. The lambs are free range with complimentary feeding from weaning through to processing

Only the lambs that meet an extremely high performance level prior to processing are selected for Mirrool Creek Lamb. The supplementary feed has been formulated in co-operation with the Department of Agriculture and various nutritionists. This combined with a strict policy of “low stress” handling, especially prior to processing, enables Mirrool Creek Lamb to provide a product of exceptional quality |
A highly qualified owner operator butcher carries out the preparation and packaging of the lamb at our local butchery in a modern, professional facility. Great care is taken to ensure that each carcass is optimally aged and then meticulously broken down with great care into individually vacuum packed cuts. Vacuum packing ensures greater longevity, hygiene and eating quality of the product. |
The care and pride that is invested into the entire process ensures that Mirrool Creek Lamb is of the finest lamb available in Australia. |
